How often should you detail your car?
There is no single detailing schedule for every car. Here is how to choose a frequency based on how the vehicle is actually used.
There is no useful one-size-fits-all answer to how often a car should be detailed. A lightly used second car and a daily-driven family SUV can go through completely different amounts of dirt in the same month.
A better question is: how long does your car stay at the level of clean you actually want? Once you know that, you can choose a schedule that catches the mess before it turns into a deep-clean project.
Start with how the car is used
Daily commuting, kids, pets, food in the car and outdoor parking all tend to shorten the useful gap between cleanings. A vehicle that spends most of its time garaged and carries one person may stay clean much longer.
The exterior has its own variables too. Rain, road grime, pollen and where the vehicle is parked all affect how quickly the finish looks dirty.
Deep clean less often, maintain more often
One of the easiest ways to make detailing more manageable is to establish a clean baseline and then maintain it. That is the idea behind our Maintenance Detail and Detail+ recurring plans.
Instead of waiting until the vehicle needs another major interior recovery, a maintenance visit handles the smaller accumulation while it is still smaller. The car spends more time clean, and each visit has a more predictable job to do.
Use the car as the schedule
If the vehicle still feels genuinely clean at six weeks, there is no reason to force a two-week schedule. If it is already bothering you after three weeks, waiting three months probably does not make sense either.
Detail+ offers schedules from every two weeks through quarterly so the frequency can match the vehicle instead of the other way around.
